At the corner of Camelia and 5th Streets, our office is located in the semi-funky West Berkeley mixed-use industrial / shopping district. We are within walking distance of the upscale 4th Street shopping area and just upwind of Trummer Pilsner Brewery. We share office space and facilities with two other architects and a landscape architect. Our other immediate neighbors include the California Olive Oil Council and two fine urban vintners - eno and broc cellars . Our favorite local coffee spot is jimmy beans which also has mighty fine food. We are cursed to be located too close to the Builders Booksource where we spend much of our hard-earned money.
Staff
Our company is staffed by a team of creative and highly dedicated professionals. We keep a balance of technical and creative talent on staff, which is anchored by the 25 years of professional architectural experience of Michael Mckay. Located in the City of Berkeley we have access to a large pool of U.C. Berkeley architectural graduates and other professional consultants.
Michael McKay is the principal of McKay Architecture, providing architectural services to residential and commercial clients since 1995. Michael obtained both his BA and MA in Architecture from U.C. Berkeley.
Anne Nelsen joined McKay Architecture in September 2008 after spending three years working as an architect in Tokyo. She is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where she studied architecture and art.
