Michael McKay Michael McKay is the principal of McKay Architecture, providing architectural services to residential and commercial clients since 1995. Michael obtained both his BA and MA in Architecture from U.C. Berkeley. After earning his Masters degree Michael practiced in partnership with Chris Spaulding from 1990 to 1995. Prior to that, Michael apprenticed with Jarvis Architects, a Berkeley firm specializing in custom and historic residential and commercial projects. Michael also spent a year working in construction, learning everything he could about the way buildings are actually built and most importantly, how to get on with builders and clients.

After 32 years of living and working in Berkeley, Michael is moving the business to New Zeland. After the experience of building his forst project in New Zeland - a house for himself and his wife Roslyn in the countryside just outside of Martinborough. Michael greatly enjoyed working on his first New Zealand project and hopes this is just the beginning of an a rich and diverse career there.
